Kavita Patel, MD

2nd Year

Kavita graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in June 2011.  She received her undergraduate BA degree in Cultural Anthropology at Duke University in 2005. During medical school, Kavita received a Global Health Fellowship enabling her to spend a full academic year working in medical clinics in Xela, Guatemala and Cusco, Peru.  Among her many activities, Kavita is involved with El Kilombo, a non-profit community center located in Durham that offers social services to the surrounding underserved Latino and African-American population. She serves as the Health Issues Representative for El Kilombo.  Kavita is fluent in Spanish and Hindi. Her hobbies include reading biographies and political history, as well as cooking and sampling new foods.
