Sionne George, MD
2009 Residency Graduate
Dr. George was born on 32 square miles in the Caribbean, namely "America's Paradise" St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. She graduated from the University of the Virgin Islands with a BS in Biology, and from Boston University School of Medicine where she was awarded the Solomon Carter Fuller Award. During her time at Boston University, she was involved with Student National Medical Association (SNMA), Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG), and she was named a National Health Service Scholar. She chose Family Medicine because of the potential of affecting the lives of others through continuity, dedication and understanding. She wanted a program, namely Duke Family Medicine that epitomizes these values and brings physicians into the community through a wide array of community projects. Sionne was bestowed the Thomas E. Matheson award by her peers at graduation.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, going to the movies, and venturing to new restaurants.
