Debra Whiteheart, PA-C

Ms. Whiteheart joined Duke Family Medicine in 2009. Prior to becoming a physician assistant, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry. She worked as an EMT, Clinical Trials Assistant, and Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania, East Africa until entering the Duke PA Program, where she received her Master of Health Science Degree and Physician Assistant certificate in 2008.

Clinically, Ms. Whiteheart enjoys the challenge and diversity that family medicine has to offer. Professionally her interests include pediatrics, women's health, sports medicine, preventive medicine, and improving access to health care. Outside of clinic, Ms. Whiteheart enjoys distance running, triathlons, hiking, traveling, going to the beach, and watching UNC Basketball.
