Melinda Blazar, MHS, PA-C
Ms. Blazar completed her undergraduate studies at Colgate University in Hamilton, NY with a degree in molecular biology. She moved to Durham to attend the Duke Physician Assistant Program where she obtained a Master's of Health Sciences. She has been working at Duke Family Medicine since October 2007. Clinicially she enjoys pediatrics and adolescent medicine, as well as women's health including prenatal care. Ms. Blazar also co-manages the Coumadin Clinic at Duke Family Medicine. She is an active volunteer at the TROSA medical center, providing healthcare for individuals undergoing substance abuse rehabilitation.
She is truly passionate about teaching and often has a medical student, PA student, or pharmacy student with her during clinic. She teaches the Practice Course to 1st and 2nd year medical students and is also involved with the Duke Physician Assistant program, contributing to lectures and facilitating small group lessons.
Outside of work she enjoys traveling with her husband, cooking, going for long walks, spending time with family and friends, and watching movies.
