Sports Medicine Fellowship

The Duke Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship is a one-year ACGME accredited program open to physicians who have completed residency training in the fields of Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine. The program enables primary care physicians to develop expertise in the area of sports medicine. They will also acquire essential teaching and administrative skills. This is accomplished through the teaching and joint cooperation of a number of outstanding departments at Duke University Medical Center, including Community and Family Medicine, Orthopaedic Surgery, and Pediatrics, as well as the Athletic Department of Duke University. There are a variety of exceptional experiences offered in the Duke Sports Medicine Fellowship, including high school, collegiate and professional team coverage. Each level offers a unique educational opportunity and perspective into the multiple facets of sports medicine. Completion of the fellowship offers the privilege of sitting for the Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine.
